Please may We bring to your attention a petition to encourage the Government to exempt Air Ambulance services from duty on the fuel they use, in the same way as the Lifeboats (RNLI) are exempt.
I now have a very personal reason to support the work of the Air Ambulance service and would be grateful if you could take just 60 seconds to join the petition. If we gain 100,000 signatures, Parliament is duty bound to debate the issue - currently we have over 17,000 signatures. Thank you for your support for this magnificent volunteer funded service.

Please pass on to all of your UK friends.

The 36th Ipswich was formed in November 2003 by the merging of two much older Scout Groups, [the 29th Ipswich and the 7th Ipswich ] for mutually beneficial and administrative reasons.

7th Ipswich

The 7th Ipswich Scout group was founded in 1915 and run out of Black Horse Lane in the centre of Ipswich . Due to the expansion of the city centre the Group was moved to the “new” Chantry estate in 1963. Over the following 30+ years the group thrived and provided valuable education and fun to many boys. During the Late 1990’s, due to lack of adult support the size of the group diminished in numbers to an extent that in 2003 it was decided to merge with the 29th Ipswich as lack of finances restricted the group moving on any further.

29th Ipswich

The 29th Ipswich were formed in 1965 by 2 teachers in Sprites Lane School and served an area immediately adjacent to the school until about the early 1970’s when it expanded rapidly into the Belstead Hills, Chantry, Pinewood and Brookwood estates. The Group met in various school buildings and a Church Hall. The Group tried from the late 70’s up until the mid-90’s to build a home of its own. All avenues were explored and for various reasons were not successful. The Group was also saving some of their funds towards this target of a home of their own.

It became apparent that the Group would not succeed in getting a building of their own in its local environment although they were by now, one of the largest and strongest Groups in Ipswich and also provided a lot of social outlets for the community with its fund-raising efforts

36th Ipswich

The aim of the newly formed group is to promote scouting in the local community. To this end the group has raised nearly £200,000 which has been used to refurbish its headquarters making it suitable for wider community use.

Potential uses are for Fencing, Art Classes, Senior Citizens meetings and activities, Blood Donating,  Foreign Language Classes, Flower Arranging,  Crafts, Mother and Tots,  Emergency Centre, Polling Station, “Surgeries” for Councillors, Police, Fire Service, Counsellors, Search Centre,  Drop-ins, Wedding receptions, Debating Society, Table Tennis, Beetle Drives and many, many more.
